Mobile Phone Tarrif's..

AngryDog
AngryDog Posts: 445 Forumite
I currently have 2 mobile phones in my name (one for me, one for my gf, who doesnt work currently).

I have asked Orange (who I am with) if i can drop the tarrif's, but they will only let me drop them by £5. I am hardly using my minutes / text's, and my gf uses even less than me, so its silly for me to be paying £100 a month for the priviledge.

Is there anything that I can do as I am looking to go on a DMP, and they only allow me to have 1 mobile listed at £20 max.

Thanks.

I think Orange have switched to only letting you downgrade in the last month of your contract.
Even when they did allow (and the halfway point) it was only by one stage per month.

Have just taken this from Oranges T&Cs.
    1. Switching service plan - You may switch to a higher SIM only service plan at any time after your first billing date. You may switch to a lower SIM only service plan after 9 months. If you do wish to switch you must give us not less than 10 days notice before your billing date. Changes will take effect from your next bill date. You can switch to a pay monthly service plan at any time after your first billing date
It might be worth asking if they still do their Best Plan review. This used to be done every 6 months to see what plan suited you most,eg if you were on a £40.00 plan but only used a 100 min or so they could change you down to a plan which suited your use.
