Glam, fab that you're thinking about church - it can be a big step for some ppl. Are you looking for traditional CofE or something more contemporary (there can be a big difference, but I do realise the lively, live band, praise songs of contemporary worship aren't for everyone)? Guess only advice would be not to lose heart if you don't like the 1st place you go to - there's SO much choice and variety out there nowadays that ppl shouldn't feel restricted to only what they were brought up with. Being brave & adventurous can actually lead you to making interesting discoveries about yourself.

Gosh, that really sounded preachy, didn't it? Sorry :o.

ooo jillie, scary! I'm still pertified of when my turn comes around in several months.

SS, go to the bakery now! :P

Ooh - do you like him? I though he was only famous in Liverpool. He did a Sunday morning slot on our local radio until recently. I saw him on 'Mock the Week' a couple of weeks ago and he looked the complete opposite of what I was expecting iykwim!

    ...:rotfl:
I saw him in a tiny pub in st helens about 5yrs ago, He's in Skins too - like so cool n down wit da kids innit (god I feel so old, I actually no longer know what the latest slang words are!!)

Beenie - newborn nappies are designed to deal with frequent poops
active/natural fit - are supposedly fitted and good for crawling etc.
super/baby dry are 'night time' nappies meant to absorb wee all night

I use super/baby dry all the time though, newborn needed changing about 3 times in the night and Chris is allergic to active/natural fit so I haven't bothered trying Ed with them

Thanks Sami, god how confusing, i'm on newborn atm they seem to soak up her curry sauce poo quite well. Does anyone have preference towards Huggies or Pampers? If so why?

I hated Huggies with DS for some reason but with Amber i didn't like the mesh top layer on Pampers cos it sticks to her skin when it's got poo on. Also don't seem as stretchy, but i'm only basing that on New Baby ones, so i'm wondering when/if i should try them again now that she's bigger... Prefer the velco type tabs on Huggies too as opposed to sticky on Pampers...

Glam, I agree with Aless, just pop along and see how you feel about the place :)
I have beliefs but I don't really know exactly what they are if that makes any sense, so I don't feel like I need to go to church all the time but I do enjoy going and it can be quite cleansing when things are happening that are out of your control, like when my Gt Gma was ill I went to church every week. I can't explain why but it made me feel more comfortable with the situation.

On a different note though, if there are any church schools near you, have a look at them online and see what the admissions criteria is, one near us requires you to have gone to church twice a month for 2 full years previous to applying (in jan/feb of the yr that child would be starting in sept) so if you find a church you like you can start getting your stamps now.

if you don't like the mesh, don't get the active fit because they have it too.

I preffered pampers for Chris but switched to huggies with Ed. Ed is tall/long in the body and the huggies just seem to fit better on him.

have you spoken to the council refuse peeps about your bin? our bin men will come and get your bins from your garden if you arrange it with them, it might just be elderly/disabled who are entitled but you won't know unless you ask ;)

I used pampers with Henry and they seem to be working ok with William too... must admit I am verging on moving WG to the green ones at mo (only cos got some on offer at Morrisons)

Trouble with Henry at the mo is the Active fit 5+ are getting a bit small for him and they dont go up to size 6 but the baby dry do so have them for night time.. Sami did you use these all the time for Chris before he TT?

Ooh ok thanks, trial and error i suppose. I've got some vouchers for Pampers and Huggies so might buy a mixture if they're on offer too and see how we go.

I rang them when i was preg with DS and on my own, and i remember this rude woman asking what my disability was, i said i don't have one but i'm heavily pregnant and it's not easy carrying bin bags to the bottom of the street, it's a bit far!! She said well you will have to ask a friend to help because we can't help!

Bint. So i've never bothered asking again! When i was almost due with Amber the bin men stood and watched me struggle while they waited for me to bring them to their van? I nearly burst into tears i had sciatica and was clearly struggling with my 1 bag at a time and 3 more at the house!!! Grr
  • Beanie - the own brand nappies are all pretty good too - it is worth trying them all out and working out which you like best tbh. I just get whatever is on offer, except pampers - we didn't like them either!

pretty much, Chris was in pampers baby dry from about 3mths until a couple of months ago. I used easy ups occasionally but not all the time because they were a lot more ££s.
I now use easy ups for Chris if we're going out for more than an hour or so or if we go to a soft play place because they're easy for using the toilet but catch anything if he gets distracted.
I use them at night now too because sometimes Chris gets up for the toilet at night and he can do it all himself if he's got them on but obv needs help to put a nappy back on.
I didn't use any nappies/pull ups when TTing though, I found it only worked if he was in just underpants and a top (and barely left the house for a week)
