SM & feely (and MDW!) - I'm with you on the hair! I have mega-thick hair as well and it takes hairdressers agggggges to cut it. Of course, that's if I've been to a hairdresser's since I was about 3 months pregnant! :eek: It's getting to emergency state now. But I do a Curly Girl routine which helps manage the frizz and stuff...

hammy - I shall look for your fairies tomorrow then!

Susan - ooo, I'd be interested to know how you make your own shampoo. I use all natural stuff anyway (sulfate-free) so wonder if I could make it cheaperer?

Hiya to those popping in...JAM, jha, Beenie (Beenie, how's Amber? I know she'd been sleeping a bit longer for you - is she still doing that? We had a terrible few nights last week but last night was a lot better so I hope we've turned the corner)

You lot have fun tomorrow! We London crew WILL get our act together one day . Since we're all south of the river, maybe we should agree on a place convenient for all (Streatham [I know a good coffee shop near Streatham Hill station but if the group is more than 4-5 it's prolly too small]? Tooting? Some place else?) I'm open to suggestions!!

Mine only registered a few months before Benjamin started with her. All CM's have to start somewhere, it doesn't mean that they are rubbish! It does mean however that their training is bang up to date

My CM is ACE!! She is having an Offstead in early March and I cannot wait to talk to them and tell them how wonderful she is When I picked Benjamin up today she was telling me that Offstead had called and whilst she was talking on the phone Benjamin came over for a 'cuddle' (ie to try to grab the phone ) so she was holding him and he was stood up and he leaned in with an open mouth like he was going for a big kiss......AND BIT HER NOSE :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

She was still laughing about it when I got there!!

No it's whomever is on the rota, I'd never met mine before but both were lovely
Are they amenable to non-standard things such as no amniotomy, delayed or no cord clamping etc.?
yes, mine read through my birth plan right at the start, I'd left some parts blank (cord clamping/cutting and 3rd stage were main things missing) they discussed it all with me and recommended delayed clamping/cutting and natural 3rd stage :T which is what I was leaning towards and went for. I think skinty had an nhs MW that was happy with her using her own cord ties too (maybe find her birth story and or PM her)
How much notice do they take of the birth plan? (OH is worried that even with a home birth if I put lots of unusual things in my birth plan they will just take no notice like last time.)

As I said above they read it and discussed it all with me and most importantly followed it xx

I'm a Joanne and I've met NMS too so I'll know at least one of you (and hopefully won't tag onto a random group of ladies with babies!).

Also, Jillie, I'm 33 - you still the oldest? lol

C asleep with her teddy over her face(first time I've left it in her crib). I'm watching the movement monitor like a hawk!!

Only breifly skimmed the last page or so cos bedtime soon and just wanted to tell you my name :-)
