I was just thinking about you today and when we'd see you. Stay and play sounds good (as does cake!!)

Well I was going to say I'd come round on Friday but as I'm taking cake to stay & play I would feel bad if I didn't invite you!

Meet you at mine about 10.15? or I'll see you there if thats easier.

    Cute! NMS, Liam's so cute!

Susan, we bought a few noisy plastic things because when people asked what to give Molly we said books and so she had very few actual toys.

Her bookshelves are super impressive though :rotfl:
Everyone seems to give Alice books without us asking. (And generally people take little notice of the suggestions they've requested anyway.) Apparently one of the indicators of deprivation is less than 100 books in the household. I find that beyond comprehension as Alice had more than that when she was a few months old. When I did my PGCE we saw a video clip of a reception child with a book who obviously had no experience of books. It was so sad - he didn't even know how to open it or what to do with it.
Boo - when Katie was a baby whether she was in pink or not she was mistaken for a boy ALL the time.
Alice was once mistaken for a boy dressed almost completely in pink.

Is it weird to teach your child proper names for body parts? (Like oesophagus, trachea, larynx, intestines etc.)

Susan, I'm with you, you could start a library in our house !!! Everyone in my family knows how much I love to read, so just assumed Jasmine would too, and she has a massive bookshelf in her room and now Dylan has one too !!

I don't think it's weird - I think we just say names which we think are easier for them to say and remember.

Jas used to have a cheap version of anatomy Jane when she was about 4 or 5 and we told her all of them, she still remembers most of them and will tell us she has a sore liver sometimes thinking she is being really smart :D:rotfl:
