Just commenting on the new cars...must be the season as we are also getting a new car....still not 100% decided but still looking at the Mercedes that caz pointed me in the direction of, I also like the Chrysler Grand Voyager:D It would be easier if I could find a dealer and get a trade in for our current car as we would need ot sell our to get the money towards the new car but then can't get anywhere to pick up a new one!!

Oh yes, we can, but it would mean me going on the back of the motorbike and finding someone to mind the kids while we went....

Phew - off to fetch Josh in a minute then straight to childminders to fetch Caitlyn. Have survived better than I thought. I've tidied, hoovered, washed up, sorted her clothes drawer out and had the music channel on really loud! And I didn't cry! Although I'm picturing her at the minute because she'll be out in the puschair with Penny doing the school run - she's never been in a different pushchair before :( When did I get so soppy??!

    Hi Csh,

Been trying to post for about 2 hours since returned from docs. Really sorry to hear about your friend. Really awful news, particularly when it's someone so young with a young family. x

Welcome back Bruno. Really sorry to hear about your OH and E. It sounds horrendous. Poor E. And poor you for having to clean up the mess. x

Kieren came out like that and was pure blue. They cut the cord straight away and took him away to resus. I have to say as a parent in that situation I would want the cord cut so they could work on him properly. I don't know much about blood flow and oxygen flow and stuff but, if they had started 'working' on him while he was still attached (as it were) I would have been even more hysterical than I already was.
I can't imagine them telling parents about the oxygen supply in the cord and them taking it in at the time IYKWIM?
I can understand that. If people were informed beforehand (by the midwife - I don't mean I think everyone should have magically researched it) that it is usually best for baby to remain attached until the start breathing and that they would still be receiving oxygen initially through the cord then that may help as obvioulsy having a discussion about it after the baby is born and hasn't started breathing yet is not the time to discuss it. I get  about a lot of obstetric practices as many are based on historical practice/medically managed births/hospital convenience and are at odds with what research has shown is best. At least we have progressed from the days when Semmelweis was considered to be mad because he claimed that if doctors washed their hands between examining dead bodies and labouring mothers it would reduce deaths of new mothers from puerperal fever. His results were clear but because germ theory had not yet been developed there was no explanation for why it would make a difference.

I got a trade in, well more of a swap really, on my car. Only problem being that I had to drive to Darlington for the car, from just outside Edinburgh!
They wanted about £300 for low loader to transport up so the :money: in me made me drive down for it in the Smart, swap, and drive back lol

went to another nursery and it was fab. big huge rooms. plenty of space for playing. fantastic messy play areas. K stayed in the baby room when ilooked around and he loved it. we stayed for storytime as we was so content. think we're going for this one. just need DH to have a look (prob leave it to me, but need him to say yes or no). only 4 babies at the moment and 1of them only there 1 day a week. and they can be flexible enough if i need to put him in an extra day as well. just need to have a read through the details but i'm 99% sure this is the one!! so relieved....
