mobile broadband on recon netbook????

Options
Hi, I'm sorry if this a silly questiom with an obvious answer, but......
I bought a reconditioned netbook for OH and DD at Christmas and recently decided to get a mobile broadband dongle so DD stops stealing my laptop(with orange dongle(contract)). I decided on the t-mobile PAYG dongle as you only have to pay per day/week etc. I have put the dongle into the netbook and followed the instructions but it will only let me access the t-mobile site....the MSN site will not load so I can not search for anything.....I hope that makes sense.....I have been playing with it all day and my brain has started to fry.
I did try it on my laptop and it worked fine so tried to set it up again on mine after the school run for DD but went back to it's old tricks

Any advice gratefully recieved, TIA xx

I had a similar problem with my PAYG T-Mobile dongle, (could only get the T-M site) in the end I had to phone them. Got it sorted via phone. i'm sure it was a problem with loading the credit.
By the by - check what you are getting in your first month, you should be able to get 1st month for 1 days credit
