Financial Hardship reclaiming - advice please!

Hi
I have read through the forums and noticed that reclaiming bank charges if suffering financial hardship still has a possibility of success...
My partner has recieved a number of charges over the last couple of years from Lloyds TSB. He has been self employed but business isn't going well and he is struggling to find a job. He has signed on but £160 a month does not help paying the bills to much!
I wondered if someone could advise me of what is actually considered 'financial hardship'?
We live together but i am in debt myself and have little to no disposable income adter paying my share of the bills and my credit card debt and loans. Does the fact he cannot afford to pay his half of the rent, council tax and utility bills count as hardship? or as i am employed and could pay them but would have to not pay my own debts mean he would not qualify?
Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated
Thanks

Thanks for your reply.
Not in arrears as yet. My partner has only been signed on a couple of weeks and I've paid this months bills by neglecting my own debts as I feel household bills are priority but I'm trying to forward think as to what we can do before it all snowballs if that makes sense...
Thanks for the link, will have a good read.0 -

If you are getting into difficulties with other payments then please contact them and explain that household income has significantly gone down due to your partner's unemployment. They should be looking to help you as much as they are able to.0
