Hi, I bought a pool table off argos.com at the start off the month for delivery by 3rd feb, today I got a call off them saying the table isn't and will never be in stock anymore but I can get a refund or choose another table but pay the difference, can they do this? They took the money out straight away so I thought they had a legal obligation now to supply it?

No, they don't.0

If it's a simple mistake you don't have legal recourse. If you can prove that Argos intentionally advertised the product with no intention of supplying it, in order to try and trap you into paying for a more expensive product then Argos would be acting illegally, it's commonly known as 'bait and switch'.
However, I doubt that Argos would engage in such tactics, the former is a much more likely explanation.0
