Home insurance allowing business use??

Hi,
My partner has recently qualified as a massage therapist and is planning on using a spare bedroom as a part-time therapy room. She does not predict a huge number of clients coming to the house in the first couple of years (perhaps one a month max).
Does anyone know of any good value insurance companies offering home insurance policies allowing a small amount of business use?
Thanks.

Most won't cover any business use - too risky having people who are clients visiting the property for the pile-em-high people you will find on the usual price comparison websites.
She will need liability cover anyway, so she might be best looking for a working from home business policy - AXA and Lloyds TSB (now underwritten by Allianz, was AXA) offer these. I know the AXA policy also allows you to insure the house along with it, I assume the Lloyds one still does but you would have to check. AXA also sell via Swinton and some other agents with a branded offering. Direct Line for business have a similar product and HSBC used to have an offering too so worth checking.
You might be best trying a good local broker, not swintons or endsleigh, who have access to more specialist products and can talk to personal lines home insurers who will cover you.0 -
You can get stand alone P/L and P/I from Towergate MIA http://www.towergateunderwriting.co.uk/zones/caring-professions.aspx
Make sure you inform your insurers of the businss use as they are unlikely to want to offer cover if it's a standard home insurance0 -
Thanks guys.0
