Carers allowance and temporary jobs

I haven't worked for several years as I have been looking after my wife. My only income currenly is carers allowance. My wifes is now able to cope a little better with her illness and I am therefore considering dipping a toe back into the employment market. I am currently looking at several temporary positions, that would allow me the chance to see how my wife manages without my committing to a permanant position.
The positions are full time and so I would therefore lose my carers allowance (and council tax benefit, as our joint income would take us over the threshold for claiming). If I am offered one of these positions I will therefore have to stop claiming my carers allowance. Does anyone know or have experience of whether it is just a straighforward case of re submitting my claim for carers allowance once the temporary job ends, and is this likely to be a quick process (the positions I am looking at vary between 3-6 months). My wife will still be in receipt of her DLA. Thanks.

Yes you would be able to reclaim Carers Allowance when a job ended.
It should not be a long process to reclaim but obviously it will depend on work loads at the time.0
