hi
has anyone ever claimed on their travel insurance with first directory? how efficient was it?
we have been skiing for the past 6 years and always had an annual policy with direct travel. we did have to claim at one stage when my daughter broke her arm and they were fab, however, this year we are trying to save so have dug out our first directory card and thought we may as well use the travel insurance that comes with that so i am curious to know any good or bad points about them.
i find it strange that they don't take any details whatsoever and your family is still covered.
the insurance is with aviva by the way

Aviva is one of the best (my opinion) as I deal with bad debt in the travel/medical billing business I see very few Aviva claims, that effectively eans that they are good enough that they pay BEFORE it qualifys for bad debt (or they sell only 5 policies a year!!!)
It's sort of irrelevant that it is supplied by First Directory, they are only the suppliers, it's similar to Heins Baked Beans, Tesco, Sainsbury's and every other grocery shop sells them, but they are still Heinz!C. (Ex-Pat Brit)

Your idea of a good company is based on how quickly they pay your clients bills.
Something that is not really relevant to the policyholder, who is much more concerned with service.
See other comments on aviva's performance with customers claims and service (not just within the industry, on MSE, but all over the net!)
And here's something to consider if you were thinking of following FH Brit's Aviva is "one of the best" recommendation.
Do you think this unusual exclusion of aviva's should make them a top recommend for holiday insurance:Excluded from cover under the policy:Any claim from Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) or its symptoms that result from travelling by air0
