EGG error in my favour

It's nice when a bank/credit card company screw up and it works out in your favour .

I opened a new card account with Egg in december, the deal was 0% credit until June. I ended up a bit miffed because only the day after my application was accepted they extended their offering by a few months taking the interest free period to September.

Anyhoo... I've just had an email from Egg saying they balls'd up my initial balance transfer and set it up as interest charging. They've spotted the mistake and so have taken off the interest amount, and re-credited and then re-debited my BT effectively starting the whole process again. They confirmed that this now puts me on the new, current deal with 0% until September. Hehehe.

As a bonus, they've said this means they may not take this months direct debit payment, and "you might choose to make an additional payment using a debit card, alternatively, you can wait and resume normal payments the following month".

I know which of those options I'll be choosing.

;D ;D ;D

A similar thing happened to me, they charged something like £1.53 in interest by mistake. I complained- they took it off, then took it off again so im £1.53 up!

So far it doesn't look like my 0% has been extended, but I'll keep my fingers crossed...

As for the minimum payment, I read this as meaning the direct debit wouldn't go through but I'd have to make a manual payment instead, but I like the way you've read it better! :D

Sounds like Monopoly - bank finds in your favour collect £10.

Have you ever wondered why there is only one monopolies commission?
