Help choosing a new combi

But 10 minutes in the shower room (if that's what you meant) probably equates to only 5 minutes in the shower with the water running, which is what's relevant here.
Maybe a survey is called for...
10 mins in the shower is what I meant....sometimes my husband is in longer if he has to shave...I am in the shower for 20 mins sometimes a little more depends on what help i need...0 -
I'm new to this whole which boiler question - only just found out that you don't have to have a combi. Don't think our water pressure is that great, we have an electric shower and a mains one, both upstairs. It would be nice to get rid of hot water tank but it's not a dealbreaker as the cupboard it's in is big anyway. What kind of boiler would make sense?
Also want to know about control panel - at present it's digital & can be set to be On, Off, Twice or Once. In last house it had a clock type thing with little pegs at 15 min intervals you slid out so you could have heating on for 15 mins, off for 15 mins all day if you wanted - or at least as often as made sense. Any ideas?0 -
Well my husband takes about 10 mins in the shower on a normal day longer if shaving and I take about 20 mins but i have a long term illness and quite often need help and to slow down and I also have long hair so within that half an hour the house does cool down....as i said in the other thread it doesn't help that our bedrooms our downstairs and our main bedroom has 2 and a half exterior walls...
Still marvel at how people have a 5 min shower but usually it's men that don't have the problem of long hair....:rotfl:
I am a woman, my hair are not that short and I have to wash them every morning. I rarely take longer than 10-15 min in the shower, including the face mask time.
Besides, if your house cools down that much within half an hour, the insulation is very questionable, as it would mean you have to have heating on all the time (24 hours) to keep it warm. And shower room/bathroom wouldn't cool down that much as you are running hot water all the time, so the air is warming up as well.Spring into Spring 2015 - 0.7/12lb0 -
I'd advise that you dont buy a combi but instead, buy a HE system boiler with modern storage vessel/pressurised if you can afford it.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

It's probably that I need help usually with my shower due to my ill health...
It's more the bedroom that cools down as I said but it used to be an old shop so it's more or less ceiling to floor windows.... and the other exterior walls...0
