HSBC Credit Check

I recently signed up to Credit Expert from Experian (which I heard about on here) - and checked my credit report.
Apart from the expected, I found out that the HSBC had done a search on my account yesterday, but it was classed as: Unrecorded Enquiry

Are they allowed to do this, and what could it possibly mean?

Have you had any dealings with HSBC recently? do you bank with them or CC?
Unrecorded enquiry has no impact on your credit file

Yes, I do have a current account with them - but that is it. No cc's or loans, etc

Indeed an unrecorded enquiry won't affect you. This could have been to do with anything, a quote, increased OD, checking eligibility for a replacement chequebook, whatever, just a routine check. Nothing to worry about
