Do anyone know of a good site for an entry level tutorial to SQL using Microsoft SQL server? I know there are lots out there, but was looking for a recommendation of one someone has used.
Put SQL Server Express 2008 on my machine so want to start making a simple database and learning some queries.
Many thanks

For Transact SQL learning you need to look at a SQL Server type forum/site.
Try here: http://www.functionx.com/sqlserver/

As a reference, Books Online (BOL) is the main MS resource. The starting page for that for SQL 2008 is here. From there, you can go down into the Database Engine section which is really where you'll want to be.
w3schools as already mentioned is a popular site for starting out in a number of languages.
You've done the main thing first, which is to install it so you can have a play around.
As you start to find your way around, and start getting a lot more specific questions about how to do something, then it's worth checking out StackOverflow - plenty of experts on there to help out, quickly, in every technical area you could imagine (all free of course). It's also a good place to learn things from too, by seeing the questions other people have and how they are answered. There are a number of sites like this, but this is IMO the best, hence I spend quite a bit of time lurking there.
Best of luck with the learning - I lurk around here a bit too, so I'll keep an eye out in case you do have more questions.0 -
