Going through court

Not me i hasten to add!
2weeks ago we were served our s21 by our ll,she wants to move a family member in now instead of renting out.
we have found a perfect house for us,right rental price, good area etc.and have spoken to the la who says that the ll is currently going through court to get the previous tenants out-they refused to leave after THEY gave notice, not the ll.
i was just wondering roughly how long it can take to go through court,i think they were due to leave at the beginning of jan.
Im really hoping it gets sorted before the middle of march as its such a perfect place for us

IIRC this could take months!!0

Between 4 and 6 months normally, assuming the T goes all the way to baliffs and the LL has not made a mistake on their possession application / notices.0

The landlord may have to serve notice on the tenant from scratch (not sure on this because the tenant already indicated they would leave and perhaps the landlord already did at an earlier point in the tenancy). This will take 2-3 months (as the expiry of the 2 months notice has to be timed with the rental period so if this has just been missed, it will be closer to 3 months).
Then if the tenant is still there at the end of the notice, the landlord has to apply to the local court for a possession order and depending on the waiting list for the local court this might take 3-6 weeks.
Then if the landlord wins the Possession Order, the tenant has 2 weeks to leave, or an additional 6 if the tenant gives the landlord a sob story.
Then if the tenant still doesn't leave, the landlord has to get a bailiff and this might take a few weeks.
If it gets to court and the landlord has incorrectly filled in the notice or cant prove hes served it, the judge will throw it out and the landlord has to serve notice again. A large minority of cases get thrown out of court for paperwork issues.0
