Trying for a Baby part 5....

Hello Ladies, and any Gents lurking about.
I've been having a bit of a mooch on here for a few days after stumbling across this thread by accident, and thought I'd pluck up the courage to dive in.
I'll give you a bit of background info. I'm 36, DH is 42 and we are TTC #1. Only been trying for 3 months this time around. We tried about 4 years ago but had no success and a lot of strife.
I've been married before and TTC with ex-DH, and after 3 years with no success finally went to Docs. He had very low sperm count, so after investigations for me including HSG and a course of Clomiphene/Clomid, we went on waiting list for IVF. The week before the phonecall came to go for IVF we split up.
So as I said, 3 months into TTC and I'm already a hormonal nightmare. I'm 8dpo with a bad case of PMT, so not getting my hopes up this month.
Just wanted to ask if anyone has tried agnus castus, soy isoflavones or grapefruit juice to aid conception. Im a bit confused about the soy as some websites say it helps fertility and others say it can hinder it.
Any thoughts appreciated.0 -
Welcome Womble. I'm not at the stage of trying all the soys etc. QQaver is our resident guru so she'll be able to comment. And I have heard Ms Agnus mentioned a few times so it's worded on here.
Sorry about your luck with ex/IVF but hopefully with the advice and support and new fella you might not need it!

At least for most of the questions in my heart,

It's not always easy,And sometimes life can be deceiving,

Morning ladies:D
Welcome Womble! You will get loads of advise and support from these wonderful ladies (and a few laughs along the way!).
Skint I had an early night last night too (alone!!) went to bed about 8.30, had serious ants in my pants and just couldn't settle so chilled in bed with a really rubbish book.
Phunkles welcome back! Hope you had a great hol and feel relaxed. Sorry about af showing, especially on a plane can't think of anything worse
CD29 here, still no af.........done an ic test this morning and there is a teeny tlp. It is so faint I had to get my glasses on but there is definately something there. I didn't use fmu as I had to go during the night. Not sure what to do now. Will I wait until tomorrow morning and use my clearblue digi?
Have a fab day ladies, it's pouring rain here bah!"That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad."0 -

First up:
teenie - how flaming exciting!! A TLP!! I guess the advice is to wait until tomorrow and use FMU but I know that's easier said than done - I know I'd be peeing on every stick in sight!!:p Really hope it's a BFP for you - truely I do!
phunkles - sorry AF turned up, and on a flight too. Ick. (((HUGS))) Hope you had a great holiday though.
womble - welcome to the madness! Sounds like you already know about the ups and downs re: TTC - hope this time it is much easier and less stressful for you.:)
CD23 and 8DPO for me. My sore throat has cleared but still have the bunged up nose, already it's not too bad - I normally get a cold with a vengenance (sp?). Having mild cramps on and off, and still bloated and smelly (TMI -). No temp dips or spotting though??
In other news, I applied to the Dogs Trust last night to take a resuce dog - I've seen a lovely spaniel I could see being part of our family - fingers crossed!! Going to call them at midday when they open.

I have a clearblue digi upstairs (I bought months ago-then didn't need it), does it not have to be fmu though?

Thanks Ladies for the warm welcome.
Am still undecided whether to try the soy stuff, don't want to ruin my chances
might give the agnus castus and the grapefruit juice a go and see how I get on with that.
9 dpo and feel heavy and bloated and very definately got PMTStrange because last month I had no pmt, no bloating, no sore bo obs, not a thing and was convinced I must be pg because I never have a month with nothing before hand, alas it was just the evil witch playing tricks on me!
Wishing you all a good day, I'm off to work.
