feel like bowing out of here for a little while. Got a phone call from doctors saying that even though hosp sent me my appointment it's now been cancelled as i don't meet their criteria (to deserve a child) as i'm fat. Obviously they didn't say the middle bit but that's the way it feels.
sorry for the bad vibes but i just feel really glum and don't know what to do or how to get myself out of this place.
hope you all enjoy the weekend and i hope there's lots more bfp's by the time i feel able to come back.

Hi Lemon Tree - ouch. If you can, I'd try and use this as motivational. Time to take stock of what you can do on your own - there's a LOT you can do to improve your fertility outside of conventional medicine. Number 1 is losing weight - Fertility Friends has an ace BMI calculator, that tells you exactly how much you need to lose to be 'normal'. Find out from your PCT/Fertility specialist what the maximum BMI is they do treat, and then get there!

As for how - there are as many different ways to lose weight as there are pebbles on the beach! I've had some success recently with Diet Chef - lost 11 pounds - and my BMI is currently 31. I'm guessing the fertility specialist would prefer to see something closer to 27, so that's what I'm aiming for. I think 30 or even 35 is often a cut off point.

Based on all the books I've read - a lot! - even just losing 10 pounds is suipposed to make a big difference. Oestrogen produced by the fat cells can mess up the hormone loop in your cycle - but you knew that.

I guess you have to ask yourself how much you want it - and if the answer is a lot, then you really have to work for it. Sorry if that sounds patronising, it's not meant to be - this is just the thought processes I've had to go through myself since I realised I was in it for the long haul (again).

    CD14 and still High:(
Perhaps I'm one of those people who doesn't get peaks on the first cycle (I've reset the machine). Or I'm not ov'ing today like the doc said:(

Hi cycle buddy, I'm also still stuck on high, I'm on month 2. Last month I got 2 lines CD17 and 18, also got some cheapie ov sticks to check from tomorrow.

I'm back from Next sale...not that great for me but then I've my online order to come:D

Hugs Lemon Tree, we are all here to support you. My BMI is probably off the scale but my GP doesn't seem bothered and no disrepect to anyone but I've seen far bigger people than me with babies, so I'm never giving up hope. Just think age is against me.

    Fingers crossed for all testers.

    Wonder how EA getting on.

So for todays song..courtesy of Elton John - Saturday Nights alright ..with slightly amended lyrics

I think you're just a bit down (quite rightly) but I'd say not to throw in the towel (although that's when people usually fall PG from the stories) but think what you can do about it. Although you only have 1 ovary it's not impossible to conceive plus you have only been seriously trying since 12/09 from page 1.
Plus, for the weight, it's probably the motivation you need to do something about it. I'm trying but not with much gusto. When I did get to target (SW) the most successful part for me was when I obsessed about that and food discipline rather than TTC! Now I'm heavier than ever but being sensible and taking the scenic route to weight loss. It is a good feeling losing weight plus the more you lose the nearer you'll get to PG and getting the doctors approval AND being able to run around after sprog too. It's a win-win situation. You'll be healthier, happier (from my experience of being lighter) and nearer to the ultimate goal.

One of my mates has just gone for man of the year and he lost 5st in a year and is made up.

    Hope that helps motivate you.

Me, CD9 CBFM read low so I'm happy it's started asking.
