:o Can I de-lurk? You all seem like a friendly bunch...

I guess I’m not officially TTC – OH is petrified, but since hitting 30 a month ago, I can’t stop panicking that my eggs are going to dry up and that we should crack on with it. After 12 years on the pill, I stopped taking it in July/Aug last year and have signed up to Fertility Friend to monitor my cycles and also invested in that Taking Charge of Your Fertility book. FF and the TCOYF book were really more for my own curiosity and to educate myself about my body, (rather than to get pregnant) – in case I found that my cycles were all over the place after being on the pill for so long. Cycles seem to be 29-33 days in length at the mo, I take my temperature when I remember – to date it has been more for NOT getting pregnant than anything...

This morning I went and bought some folic acid  and am going to ramp up convincing OH that we should get on with it come September-ish... Not sure what else I should be doing to prepare to TTC as I eat a reasonable diet and exercise regularly. Also working on getting OH to give up smoking asap – he’s promised before 1st June.

So yeah I guess that’s me... Just turned 30, OH is 31. We recently moved to Sydney (Australia) from the UK which is another OH doesn’t quite feel ready. We’re due to be here for 2 years so I think he wants to wait until we get home, but I’ll be 32 by then and don’t want to wait that long!

BigSister2008, I bloat up leading up to AF every time.
I gain weight and my boobs grows bigger. Only time it didn't do that was when I actually got pg;)

Welcome Blue Monkey! Nice to have someone from other side of the globe, I'm kind of near you at the moment, temporarily that is:o It'd be great to chat while UK people are asleep:D

What time are you? I'm nearly 2pm.

Welcome BlueMonkey. The late nighters will have a friend now - like me who sometimes goes on a stupidoclock.

I have a quick question....with day 7 of "almost properly coming on", when do people actually start their CD1? Does it have to be flowing, red etc? Sorry there will be no offence if TMI!

    WAY TMI...
I seem to have ~ 4/5 days pink tinged pee/CM (with cramps) followed by only 1 day red flow, 1-2 days brown spotting, and then another couple of days of discoloured pee. I mark CD1 as the day of red flow, not the stuff before. Not sure if that's right way to do it or not but at least it's consistent for me. :o

Some say CD1 when flowing red, some say spotting. I rarely spot beforehand, if I did, it'd be just one day, so I count that as CD1;)

Which DPO did you start spotting?

CD13, ewcm, OH comes home CD15. Temp slightly up, but not much. My temps shoots up when I ov'd so I'd say not yet but really really close.

Will I be able to hold off ov'ing until CD15 or preferably CD16?

Welcome Blue Monkey you are probably winding down for bed now. We're all getting into work...bah! :(

QQ hope that little egg waits a couple of days....just pounce on OH as soon as he gets through the door just in case. ;)

Well I am properly fed-up now, thanks Mi3 :p, I was living in hope that I might just might get preggers, but now I find out there's only a 5% chance as I'm over 40 (officially an old bag!). Saying that, there's even less chance of winning the lottery, but I still buy a ticket every week. Ah well, no fool like an old fool, eh?

    SBDTA......
It doesn't hurt to be optimistic....you can always cry later.

  • Wow loads to catch up on but i'm so tired the brain is not digesting :o

Hi Blue Monkey (very jealous that you are in Sydney! One of my most fav places and hols ever!) Hope your stay here is short

Quaver - Really hoping that your little egg holds on and waits for some mates to play with ;) I second jumping on DH as soon as he gets home. What more of a welcome could a guy want!!

FantaFan - I suppose as long as you always choose the same situation (spotting or red flow) for CD1 you should be ok. I class red flow as CD1 but only tend to get a little bit of spotting prior to her arrival

Bigsister - I used to bloat up before AF but now my body thinks its funny to no longer do this  Like i dont SS enough! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Tiger - Keeping my fingers crossed for you hun

Lilian - So excited for you for Sat! Best wishes enjoy your day!!!

Dusty - Really hoping that everything is sorted for you soon!

Sammy - How long is your jury service? Hope the 2WW doesnt drag out to much for you. Fingers crossed

MV - Sending you lots of (((HUGS)))

LemonTree - Charts confuse me sorry fingers crossed though

Oh and on the subject of Jaffa Cakes - I prefer the cheapy ones. Find McVits a bit to orangey for me :rotfl:

Does multiquote have a limit? I'm sure I quoted more than this.
Went to visit relatives today and SIL said my boobs were bigger and i have put on weight so u can guess what i had going though my mind ;) and a few people have commented on my weight but i think its all the easter eggs i have eaten ;) Even the OH has noticed them change which he hasnt before during my cycle, sayin that neither have i. Is it normal coming up to the witch time?
I'm going to be mean and say you're SS. But I've got everything crossed for you ((hugs)).

Welcome Blue :) I also set up a new account just for TTC. Didn't want any chances of anyone working out who I am.

I start when it's red, even if it's a small bit. I find what I call spotting is usually brownish anyway. I think the main thing would be to keep it consistent for yourself...but generally you should find that your luteal phase is about 14 days, so if you know when you've ov'd you could sort of work out when to start CD1, IYSWIM? Unless you're rare and have a longer or shorter luteal phase.

@LemonTree - I've got to admit, your chart isn't 'average'. I would go with cycle day 15 as being when you ov'd.

@Tiger - did you test again?

As for me, we BD'd again last night (CD12). Temp still low today, so not ov'd. Expecting to Ov Thurs/Friday.

Am I the only one who hates jaffa cakes?
