Fanta I heard that news headline too. Its so bizarre as this friend of mine who told me last night that she is preg, had been trying for over a year and had 2 mc's.

She went really militant about the whole thing. She and her OH cut out alcohol, sugar, only ate organic, and was having acupunture and taking a range of regular supplements and also chinese herbs. She swears the alternative therapies helped her this time.

She also said that her acupuncturist had said doctors will always tell you that if you are having a MC, there is nothing that can be done about it, but the AP believes this is BS and things can be done.

My friend apparently had some nasty cramping and spotting at 7 weeks, went to see the AP and it was fine afterwards.

I really dont know if there is anything in it. I had a mini-arguement with OH last night, partly due to me being all upset again, but also because he said flatly he would not try AP, and thought it was a load of old carp.

It upset me a bit thinking that the 2 times we'd seen beans heartbeat, despite me having been bleeding pretty much constantly, could something have been done? :(

If AP doesn't do any harm to the baby, and relaxes you, then what harm could it do?

Had a lump of very jellyish CM about a week ago for a day which had a slight brown tinge to it (sorry for TMI!) but that's it. Should I be worrying yet?
Perhaps it was ov spotting, AF due 2 weeks after the blob:D

The acupuncture possibly did help her, however so would cutting all that out:) If she was militant about wihtout any medical reason as to why she hadn't conceived earlier then it was going to happen sooner or later

She also said that her acupuncturist had said doctors will always tell you that if you are having a MC, there is nothing that can be done about it, but the AP believes this is BS and things can be done.
Hmmmmmm, I'm not convinced....although might be possible, I don't know enough about it to comment too much on it

My friend apparently had some nasty cramping and spotting at 7 weeks, went to see the AP and it was fine afterwards.
It may have stopped anyway, its a common time for bleeding & cramps because of everything stretching, personally I would say coinkydink:o And as the pg is so wanted she's probably panicking at every twinge anyway:) amazing what the mind will blow out of proportion;):)

I really dont know if there is anything in it. I had a mini-arguement with OH last night, partly due to me being all upset again, but also because he said flatly he would not try AP, and thought it was a load of old carp.
Each to their own, but it doesn't stop you from trying if you want to give it a whirl:D

It upset me a bit thinking that the 2 times we'd seen beans heartbeat, despite me having been bleeding pretty much constantly, could something have been done? :(
I highly doubt it honey:( If AP really could stop/prevent a mc surely it's be more widely known and used?? I know AP can be got on the NHS for various ailments so why not to stop/prevent mc if it works?
BTW all the above is me playing devils advocate and giving you another opinion:) Personally I think if AP helps you in any kind of way, whether it makes you feel you're being proactive, it helps you relax, gives you peace of mind..anything positive really then its a good thing:) and if you feel you want to try it, do, even if you only go the once and don't like it...you've given it a go and can rule it out of your mind and then you'll know you have tried everything you possibly can:) I'd do more research for you if I had time(I'm finally busy..ish!) but google is a wonderful thing, just remember to look at medical stuff rather than peoples opinions as they can be very biased;):)

sorry for the red writing...it stood out better next to the black but on the white it's mkaing my head hurt:o:rotfl:

Fuzz I agree with what you've said. I think its more to do with your state of mind than anything.

I havent gpot to the stage of trying AP yet anyway. Will give it a few more months and then have another think.

I may invest in a CB fertility monitor though as she swore by that too..even though I've heard they're pricey! :p

Anyway...my funky red 'egg' chair has arrived, and i am very excited :j

Just need to wait for OH to get home to help me unpack/get it upstairs as it's in a crate type box

Its sitting in the hallway blocking my front door at the moment so if there was a fire I'd be for it! ;)

^^^^^^ What she (Fuzz, not cat's mother :p) said. Anything that helps you relax and feel more positive can only be a good thing even if the needles themselves don't make a jot of difference. (I just said 'jot'. Yet another step on the increasingly slippery slope to middle age :rotfl:).

Also, try not to think about 'what ifs' as hard as it is. You do the very best you can at the time, it's all too easy to look back and wonder but don't :A

I'm on day 15 of the CBFT and no eggy yet - just as well as DH has announced he's not coming home tonight either :(
I bought mine from Amazon for £65 inc a pack of goodies - same price as eBay but thought more confident than buying - something that personal anyway.
The pee sticks are £14 and if you've got normal 28 day ish cycles one pack should do 2 months. The way I look at it is that I started DTD last Thursday when it started to read high chance and I know the OV time is the greatest chance time so in future I won't be so demanding and it might not result in an argument. I think having it takes a wee bit of pressure off but I think I was a bit gung-ho as last month it didn't go high....but I wasn't sure which was AF and mid-cycle OV bleed so may have got them mixed up. At least now it I know 15 days ago was my real AF although it might show that I don't OV after the stnd 14 days.

If the machine works for me, I'll keep it for number 2 and then flog on ebay. It does say to use a pack of 20 only if you have at least 10 left at the start of a cycle so I've got 7 left in a box so a bit of a waste. If I get to know my body a bit better I might risk it.

    SBDTA x

MS12, hope you're ok thinking of you. x

Fanta - is it complicated to use/understand?

    I'm a bit of a technophobe!

POAS is complicated enough for me!!
