Hi,

When trying to save a pic from the net (I have the permission from copyright owner) I would normally right click and select save image, but when I right click now I get nothing. The button is working as when I right cluckon the desktop I get the poop up[ box.

It is the same in a forum. If I select some text and then right click to try and copy I don't get the pop up box that has the menu in it. What is going on?

OS is Vista and browser is firefox.

Is it the same for every site, or just some sites? I know some websites (annoyingly) use Javascript to disable right clicking (why, I really have no idea), so if that's the case try viewing the page with Javascript disabled

It discourages novices like the OP from hotlinking and such.

There are much better ways to do that without resorting to annoying legitimate users though. I find the sites that use javascript to pop up an alert box with a message like "YOUR ILLEGAL ACTIONS HAVE BEEN REPORTED" the funniest. Right clicking is illegal now? Really?

But then you'd be assuming that the webmaster actually has a clue. Most sites that use the javascript warning look amateurish, I wouldn't expect the author to start messing with .htaccess and the likes.
