We have a van, my husband has 6 years no claims bonus, we are getting another van, both are going to be insured for him to drive, can he get his no claims bonus for both, or do you need to build up a new one for the new van.
Also does anyone know if 6 years is the max no claims as his hasn't gone up for a couple of years.
Thanks

I think some insurance companies show ncbs for 9 years etc but I always understood it was as follows,

    1 year 30% discount
    2 years 40% discount
    3 years 50% discount
    4 years 60% discount
    5 years 65% discount
6 years 65% discount( no change)

NCB is only useable on one vehicle at a time so yes he will have to start a 2nd lot of NCB on the 2nd vehicle.
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.

You can usually get a discount equal to you ncb earned on one vechicle on a second one you own, but it can't be transfered. After the first year you will have earned a second ncb so you can insure with 6 years on one, and 1 on the other. Usually cheaper to stick with the original insurer though, or insure both vechicles with the same company.
