how to transfer digital 8 to dvd (no camcorder)

I've got alot of digital 8 casettes with my children's fotage on them but my digital 8 sony camcorder broke and now faced with the dilema of how to transfer them onto dvd - i've looked on eb*y to find a camcorder but the prices are too much is there any other way
