Know how you feel. I've start about 4 weeks ago, nothing yet but i wont give up. I just look at it as a bit of fun. If i dont win it didnt cost me anything.... Plus i only enter stuff i want or that my family might wont. Think people just enter everything so i guess they have higher odds of winning where as i might only enter 10 or so comps a day. And tend to be big prizes that everyone would be after.0

As a guess I would say I enter about 30 a day, I'm still working my way through all of the posts on here.
My unlucky streak has to run out sooner or later so I won't give up!
I was also wondering what format view the board in. I seem to spend most of my time reading the same posts before I realise I've already entered it even though I've already left a thanks.
Is there an easy way to view what you have already entered?
have you tried loquax? they have a tracker so that comps only come up what you haven't entered i love this forum and do sometimes enter comps from here but i just can't get on with the thanks button way of keeping track at all and i've really tried! It takes me forever and just seems a bit untidy looking for me and i find it so much quicker clicking on the little ducks and not seeing the comp again. I probably have OCD how much i like things neat and in order lol.
good luck you will win eventually.0 -
I started comping in November 2008 and won my first comp (a Fifi DVD) in June 2009, so don't be too down. It'll happen.

I was quite lucky and won within 2 weeks of starting - I had a call to say I'd won a ride on the Ninky Nonk for me and my daughter, which turned out to be a wonderful prize.
Just hang in there...and think positive thoughts :0)0 -

I think this right. I sometimes see people's posts in IWIWIW or in a 'what have we all won in whatever month' and some people seem to enter anything and everything. I know one man's rubbish is another's treasure and all that but I often think 'God, what a load of rubbish you've managed to collect'
I've won over £7k since I started comping 2 years ago and nearly all my wins have come from comps where there have been multple prizes
Now I come to think of it, there have probably only been 1 or 2 comps that I've won where there has only been one prize (and they were local comps)
I only enter about 100 comps a month but step it up when a big comp comes along08 wins £3000+ :j09 wins £4408:j2010 (6 months off) £2004:j2011 £10,003 :j 2012 - £6013 :j2013 wins £8500 :j 2014 £5530 so far....0 -
I was really lucky when I first started. I entered everything that I fancied winning, spent at least 5 hours a day and whole weekends. In my first week I won a holiday to India so from then on I was hooked.
The wins are nowhere near as frequent though nearly 2 years on. I think this site has become more and more popular and with the recession, I think people are trying to win things rather than being able to buy them so the odds aren't as good now.11th Heaven prizes Number 103

Oh man, as much as I like to see all of the new comps being posted...I can't keep track of them all.
I think the key, like you all say, is luck and perseverance! If I enter at least 10 a day I'm bound to win sooner or later aren't I?
Well thanks for all of your replies, I have millions more to enter now. Thanks korkythecat for my fairy dust sprinkle, made me feel like a winner!
I haven't had any calls, only junk emails so hopefully floods of winning letters will turn up soon! I AM GOING TO WIN!!I work, I pay debts, I work some more and then pay more debts...give me a break! :money:0 -
Hi broke
Do keep at it! I started doing comps properly a few weeks ago and I have had 4 wins (see my sig). I must enter hundreds a day:o - my OH is getting a tad annoyed that I spend so much time on here:D.
I mainly use this site and use the thanks to keep track of what I have entered. I go between new comps posted and end date - I'm currently up to 3/2 on end date so need to get cracking on 4/2 today.
Before that I only ever done them on an adhoc basis and won nowt.
Good luck xxxxThe shinbone is a device for finding furniture in a dark room.:TBig thanks to all competition posters:T0 -
It took about 2 weeks to wine my Peroni coaster.
Since then I have won 2 more draws, but they were not big competitions (I am guessing!).
I am also new to comping so have no real strategy yet, but it's fun and the people here are amazing and friendly! One thing I am trying, (although it's not worked yet hee hee), is to visualise myself using/going to what I am entering for and having fun with it. Can't hurt?
Good luck and have fun! Thanks to all the angels who post! :A0
