Hi all, would just like to thank everyone who has posted comps, they're great.

I was also wondering how long it took before you all won anything?
I've been comping for about 6 months and not won anything yet :(

I would love to win something, I've never won anything in my life!
I work, I pay debts, I work some more and then pay more debts...give me a break! :money:

  • I won after about a month but i know it can vary alot some people win straight away but others wait ages it also depends how many comps you do. I use another site mainly for comping and average 100 a day so do tend to win regulary. BUT every entry has the same chance so dont give up!!!! Just remember big prizes get 1000s of entries try comps with lots of little prizes or local papers etc for better odds
  • Local Radio comps are good too, I've got on a few seemingly quite easily. Won £1000 on one and £500 on another - good luck!

About 2 weeks, but I didn't know because they take their time telling you sometimes.
IF you enter as many as you can and don't quit you'll eventually win something.
I've had 2 little wins turn up with no warning this week in the post without me even knowing until they came, from Advent comps...and a couple I know about that ahve yet to arrive too.

If you have no luck right now remember this.
There's only one sure thing about luck ...it will change :)

I won after about 6 weeks. The adage "You've got to be in it to win it" is so true.

When I first started, I thought I would never win, but getting the wins and the great support and friendliness on here keeps you going.

Fingers crossed your first win comes very soon:j

  • Hey, thanks for all of your stories. I'm not sure if they depress me or give me hope...I think I'm somewhere in the middle.
As a guess I would say I enter about 30 a day, I'm still working my way through all of the posts on here.

My unlucky streak has to run out sooner or later so I won't give up!

I was also wondering what format view the board in. I seem to spend most of my time reading the same posts before I realise I've already entered it even though I've already left a thanks.
Is there an easy way to view what you have already entered?

It took me about 4 to 6 weeks until I got my first win. It was a book. :j

I stated doing the comps on here before they had the comp ending dates though. A workmate of mine has recently started comping, using the comp end dates, and she won in the first week.

My dad has been doing comps for over a year and hasn't won a sausage. Dad only does the big holidays, big cash prizes and things like PC's though, he probably only enters about 15 a day.

I think it varies on how many you do a day or a week. I average 70-120 a day so the more you do the more chance you have of winning. I got my first win after about 2 months.

I work out the time and date I stop comping and then the next day go back to that time and date so I know I haven't missed any. I often look at ones I have already entered this is because of all the bumping!.

I won quickly but I won an instant win, the Mars football, cricket ball and rugby ball promotion that was on last year and easy to win on.

I view comps using the end date view, and enter all the comps ending the next day. If I have any spare time (I work full time) then I might enter the day after that and newly posted comps. I average probably 50-100 in a day and don't get a lot of wins.

Don't give up hope though, I stopped comping between September and December, and only started again in the xmas break but quite a few wins were trickling through from comps entered in the summer as some companies take a long time to sort out winners and prizes.

The majority of wins turn up unannounced, since I started comping in May 2009 I think I've had one winning letter, the odd winning email and not a single winning telephone call.
    2009 Wins = £833
    2010 Wins = £6,597
    2011 Wins = £7,083

    £2,012 in 2012 = £450/£2,012
    20 in 2012 = 4/20

My first win was the janeo jewels one last year where I won after about a week or so.

I always do competitions by end date, although sometimes I do ones that have been posted on that day. Right now I'm doing the ones ending 5/02. Got a long way to catch up though with the other competitions lol. I average about 100 a day, though some days I do enter about 200.
