Moben Kitchens - problem getting refund

Hi all, hoping someone out there can help/offer advice. We ordered a kitchen through Moben at the end of December with the promise that a fully broken down quote of supply/labour etc would be provided when the 'surveyor' came round 2 days later. We paid 1500 quid deposit. They went back on this and said they could not provide a breakdown of the quote, or even give us the 'list price'. We weren't happy with this so we cancelled 2 days after ordering, within the 7 day period under the Sale of Goods in Home Act. This supposedly entitles us to a full refund of deposit. A month later and we still don't have the deposit back. Everytime I called someone would hang up on me, I eventually got though to someone in the accounts department who I have been ringing every week or so, and who has got ruder and ruder, and just keeps telling me there's a delay and we should have it back soon.
Has anyone had the same experience? if so what did you do? I am considering sending a solicitor's letter (I am lucky enough to know one so it wouldn't cost me anything) but I don't want to annoy them even more so they refuse to give back the deposit full stop.
If anyone could give me any advice it would be much appreciated.

you should check out the credit card board if you haven't already. Lots of people in there with knowledge about paying by credit card and your rights.0

Hi Sophie, how did you get on?
We cancelled ours last week (within the 7 day cooling off period), don't seem to of had any problems, although I don't think they had even processed our payment as it was a Monday morning when we cancelled, (only signed on the Saturday)
Still not found a kitchen we like that compares though!!To be in your child's memories tomorrow, be in their life today.0 -
We faxed them a solicitor letter in the end, and they refunded back to my credit card on the same day! Such a relief. The credit card company weren't much help, because Moben had not actually refused to give the refund, they were just stalling me. We found a very similar kitchen in B&Q for less than half the price, they have been good so far, delivery on time, units really solid etc. Also I noticed Focus DIY have a good sale on kitchens as well, depends what you are looking for though - we wanted a cream shaker style, and there are quite a lot of those about at the moment. Also if you know someone in the trade, Howdens are supposedly good, but can't say from personal experience, just what people have told me.0

avoid howdens at all cost their customer service is rubbish as is their appliances, our oven inner door exploded after 13 months and all we were told was its out of warrenty, it almost took my wifes face off BEWARE0
