Is your listing next to mine? I've had loads of calls from people who "have buyers for your vehicle" What I don't get is any calls from buyers who actually want to buy my vehicle.
Its costing me a fortune in advertising fees and insuring the damned thing. The best things in life are NOT free - but they sure are cheaper with MSE!:j0 -
Hi Kathryn. Edit your ad to say "no canvassers please". it's stopped all those sorts of calls for me. Still no buyer tho

I have been to 2 dealers and if it doesnt sell by the time my ad expires on autotrader i'm gonna give it a week on ebay and if no joy will chop it in at a garage for a new car plus cash.
Any cash off my debt is better than no cash. And i really dont need a year old sports car. It was an indulgence. In hindsight i'm glad i bought it as if i hadn't when i had the money i wouldnt have it now to sell.Last bet : 26th Oct 2006:j Debt free 25th Feb 2008:j Living "my" dream:T0 -
Are those GA meetings any good ? Ive been a gambler on and off for 30 years never so much that i couldn't pay my way but its cost me loads all added up. I just got the impression they all wollow in self-pity together maybe im wrong.0

No there is hardly any self pity. Just a will to not gamble and better our lives. I actually enjoy going as it's like a nice big group of mates that have a chat and a laugh and are supportive if you need it where you've had a rough week. You get to say how you feel and not be judged.
If it was a self pity group i definitely wouldn't go, but it really isnt.
If you think it might help, give it a go, you've nothing to lose and lots of new supportive friends to gain.Last bet : 26th Oct 2006:j Debt free 25th Feb 2008:j Living "my" dream:T0 -

Your first post said you don't feel like your getting anything out of the GA meetings!
But going by your second post it sounds not too disimilar to this board! You enjoy going and it's helping you. What more could you want?
Well done. Keep up the great work. You should be proud of yourself. :T :beer:0 -
You were so right SS, I had another meeting last night and ended up crying as i realised that i go to the meetings as its the only place where people understand why i did it, and why i still think i could "win" all my money back.
Took me til last night to realise but i am sure you're post helped me.

Little update. I couldnt sell my car privately so but the bullet and traded it in against a cheaper car. Still have a lovely motor, LESS mileage than i'd done in mine and got a nice fat cheque for just over 2k! Debt has dropped dramatically. I move next door in 2 weeks which drops my rent by £60 a month too so i can start saving for next years car tax and tv license. plus pay a bit more off my debt each month. :j
Keep going everyone. I am now feeling so good about myself. I should be debt free in 3 years. No longer than the average car loan, albeit an expensive one.
Without the support of people on here i could never have gotten through this so quickly as being persuaded to come clean to my parents and asking for help was the best thing i ever did.
Thank you
