Premier Inn £29 offer - does it exist?

My OH and I want to go away for the weekend to Somerset in February. I went onto the Premier Inn website and tried to book a double room in Frome within the restrictions imposed on the £29 per night promotion currently running, according to their website. Depending on which Thursday-Friday night in February I chose the price varied between £60 per room and £65 per room per night.

I looked to see if there was another part of the website where I could book it at the reduced rate but could not find one. Nor could I find anywhere that said this particular Premier Inn was excluded from the offer.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

IF someone knows then do let me know too.
  • It does exist.

You have to book 21 days in advance and either by the internet or the customer contact centre.

Its only at selected hotels at selected times and theres only a selected amount of rooms at that offer that night at that hotel.

    I hope that makes sense.

I think it may have changed but to book you need to click on the "£29 offer".

But as others have said, it's only for 21 days in advance and only at certain hotels and at certain times and there are only a limited number of rooms available at that rate, once they are gone, that's it.

They give the impression that if you fulfil the criteria, then you get the good rate, but that's not the case at all.

You also, sometimes, have to stay for 2 nights to qualify. The details of the offer are here http://www.premierinn.com/en/it/offers/premier_offers.html and you need to read the small print Ts & Cs at the bottom of the page.

There are lots of hotel offers that aren't what they seem. Saw one recently for Hilton, I think it was, offering half price room - only to find it only applied to a few of their over-priced London hotels.

Nice site for ideas for days out when it's raining: things to do when its raining.

Actually I did click on the £29 offer for the Frome Premier Inn and I qualified on all the counts stated - more than 21 days in advance, time of year, days of week, length of stay. I tried three different time slots (of 2 days) in the qualifying period and the qualifying length of stay and all were priced at £60 per room per night.

I realise this must mean that the available rooms at that price have gone (if they existed) but the website is misleading as it gives the impression that if you qualify by date, time slot and length of stay you will be eligible for the £29 offer. It says nowhere which hotels do not offer it or have sold out either.

Well in the end I booked into the local Travelodge for the same period for £32 a night.

At least travelodge are clear about their pricing and give you a choice of flexible and advance purchase rates and let you see in a grid what prices are available.

Premier Inn could learn a few things.

Agreed, although Travelodge has room for improvement - for example, if you go to book multiple nights stays, you won't get quoted the best available rate for each night.
