Problem with a builder
Comments
-
Just had a look @ mybuilder .com
It will only cost me
Only £40.00 per quarter (about £13 a month) + VAT
a small success fee applies for each job you do.
To get work from them.. I just looked at the last 3days of posting.
There is a lot of work out there, and a lot of builders trying to get that work..
It proves also a lot of builders have no work.. why ?
I do wish I had time to find work on this site daily. .
Also mybuilder takes a fee. . This must only be added to the quote. £££££
on the other hand people come to you and you not looking for a builder, and you can read there feed back, However that dose not always work. As Sigurd
found out.
JW: Do you find site like mybuilder, ratepeople of useful at all in a builder's perpective? Or is it just make getting job more complicated?
My experience is the job in mybuilder is extremely competitive. I posted a job on plastering the whole living room, I posted the job at night got 10 interests next morning. The kitchen work I mentioned earlier in the post, I got 15 builders expressed interest. I got builders who live as far as 60 miles away interested in the job. It is quite scary given that I don't have a big kitchen, so it is not a big money job that worth the travelling that far.
The plasterer was very good. I have problem with this builder who installed kitchen. Both of them has couple good feedbacks before.0 -

My Oh is a builder and never advertises all his work is by word of mouth. Next time you need a builder of any sort ask for peoples reccomendations and as Mckneff has said always get three quotes.0

A builder has to be desperate to want a job 60 miles away. Perhaps his reputation stops him getting work for 50 miles :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:... i would not be surprised too if there are secondary businesses which put in bids but have no tradesmen and engage them as required. It is not a way I want to take on tradesmen.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
