wait 3 1/2 years and set up your own driving school. simple.Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)
new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,0000 -
I have not looked into this in detail but you MAY be able to make a complaint against Barclays under S75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 if the loan was provided at point of sale of the training.
You would also then be able to take Barclays to the Financial Ombudsman Service - but must allow Barclays to consider the matter first.0 -
I too got scammed by Red, and unfortunately lost about £7,000+
I can't even begin to tell you what that alone has done to me..... :-(0 -

Magpiecottage is correct, under S.74 of CCA 1974 you can make a claim if you purchased a product or service, anywhere in the world, costing less than £30k if:
1. you can demonstrate either breach of contract or misrepresentation.
AND
you paid by a UK issued credit card....OR
you singed aloan agreement with a UK based lender at the same time as signing the purchase agreement ('linked' loan)
IF you took out a linked loan your claim can be for:
- the return of all the money paid to the lender
- cancellation of the loan agreement.
Do your research....if you believe this applies to your circumstances then you need to write to Barclays Partner Finance and explain that you believe this to be the case and that they cancel the loan and repay any payments made. You will probably find that they dispute this and so you will probably have to pursue the matter through the Ombudsman.Comping since 1995 Wins - July 2012: Discovery Hamper; £100; August 2012: Portable BBQ, Original Source Shower Gel0 -
I don't know why people are so suprised when you consider that Barclays is the company responsible for FIRST PLUS finance, this is just another scam by them.
Maybe ex Red Members should set up a complaints website like First Plus members:
http://www.firstpluscomplaints.co.uk/
Then maybe they will take you all seriously!!

You have to do ALL the legwork if you want to get the bank in court and find out what acts have been broken
All the information is available on the Internet including the court cases where people have won..It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.0 -
8 weeks ago i sent a letter to barclays advising of my mis-sell
and my concerns.
After 8 weeks i finally got a reply from Barclays,
They have offered to pay for any *Future* fees to Driving Results Limited may require for me to continue my course however will not cancel the loan or refund me the amounts paid, they have advised i need to continue with my loan agreement as they are not able to uphold my complaint as there was no barclays finance reps present at the time of agreement and can not comment on LVG Behalf
The said as Driving Results Limited took on all LVG students, this fulfilled any obligations barcalys may have under section 75 of the CCA 1974
Can anyone give me any advise moving forward?
Financial Ombudsman best way forward?0
