When is your holiday year calculated and how many days have you taken?

How is he screwing you over.
You havent earned the holiday to go hence he is unwilling to pay you for it in full.

This is something you should have considered. Your comments about previous years etc are irrelevant as you should have done something about it at the time.

He's probably concerned that you will decide to stay in NZ and screw them out of cash.

As for telling you now. Well yes he can. He probably didnt need to tell you at all.
  • Its usual for the employee to secure the leave (by asking not telling) before booking anything.

I can't see that you have a leg to stand on.

You only "accrue" holiday in the first year, after that year it becomes your right to take it when you want to, providing the management agrees.
(which they appear to have done in this case)

So if they have agreed, they don't have a valid reason not to pay you, if you have been there for over a full year.

(and if you do decide to stay in NZ, they can only recover the holiday pay if it's in your contract to do so, otherwise they can't touch any other pay you have outstanding)

Your boss may have known for god knows how long you would be paid only the holiday pay you are entitled to, but so did you.

that has no point to it, we both new, he wage he offers is poor reguardless, my point is he is like a man trying to get out of paying child support and will do anything he can not too, hence previous years.
i could of made arragements for money if id been notified before hand!

    Why should he notify you?

You if you had any intelligence - could be the problem ;) - would have realised it was very early in the holiday year and confirmed.

As for your moaning about his professionalism etc and low wages. I would suggest you reread your posts. Hardly readable as english. Why on earth would anyone pay you a premium wage.:D

talking about english..... ect belongs at the end of a sentence :rotfl:

    get on your way

I know I'm just being an*lly retentive, but it doesn't does it?

To the best of my knowledge in proper English grammar, one should never end a sentence with a preposition (of, at, on, in, etc.).

Not to say I follow this strictly, or at all.

It's amazing how those with a can-do attitude and willingness to 'pitch in and work' get all the luck, isn't it?

etc stands for 'and so forth and so on' and may appear anywhere within a piece of text.

  • TBH I want to correct both of you by saying it's actually "etc" (et cetera).

    Don't we just love pedantry!

I'm going to be spending about an hour looking at various sources now - in a casual manner understand - with a nice cup of tea, and maybe a biscuit.
