Windows 7 and Internet Explorer Problem

Hi all
I got a new laptop for Christmas with Windows 7 installed, however, when I open up internet explorer on certain pages the bottom toolbar flashes on and off, this is very annoying and I have no idea what is causing it, anyone know of a solution to fix this ?

Which toolbar? And if you insist on using IE, you really should - after the China/Google security loopholes - be thinking of updating to IE8

Sounds like the Task Bar to me .... One of the icons on there will probably flashing because there is something happening on another task quite possibly there may be a UAC message queued . Click on the flashing icon and you might be enlightened ..The bottom toolbar with the start menu and volume icons etc

If you want it to disappear, right click on the taskbar click on properties and select autohide.
It will only appear if you mouse over the area.
Give Firefox a whirl you might like it.
