Young Persons rail card

Hi

A few questions.

I'm 25 and turning 26 on 22 June. My Young Persons railcard is due to expire on the 26 March 2010:

- Can I renew for another 1 or 3 years, whichever I choose?
- Is there still a discount for renewing for 3 years rather than 1 year?
- Are there any promo codes currently going around?
- In terms of getting the best deal, am I best to renew online now (and specify an activation date for the new card of 27 March 2010 if possible)? Can this be done?
- Seeing as I turn 26 this year, is it even possible to purchase 3 more years worth of railcard discounts?

Thanks in advance.

You can buy or renew your 1-year 16-25 Railcard up to and including the day before your 26th birthday, and your 3-year Railcard up until the day before your 24th birthday - and keep using it until its expiry date. So, even if you turn 26 while your Railcard is valid, you can still make huge savings.

    From the YP railcard site

So you can only buy a 1 year one - and you might as well buy it on the first day after 27 March (and before your birthday) that you need to use it

Does the same apply for those over 26 with an ISIC card?

I was hoping that I could renew my railcard on the last day of August (on expiration of my ISIC card).

The application form has to be certified by your training establishment.
So I guess that it depends how flexible your uni/college is in that respect.
If your course finishes in May/June, I imagine you may have difficulties.

Sorry Laird, you cant buy yours online, but for anyone else...
