Profit Share during Maternity Leave

Options
My wife is about to give up work for her maternity leave for 6 months in March. Her company pays profit share twice a year between Jan and June and July and december.

Does any one know if she will still be entilted to this when she is on maternity leave, or if she forfits any money.

Any help wil be most appreciated.

I got mine while I was off :D

She needs to ring her HR dept as not all companies will be the same but as far as I can see, she's an employee so she's as entitled as anyone else :-/

    You're very welcome ;)

She's best to ring up though to check... then you can plan ahead...... ;)

She's also entitled to annual payrises if she usually gets them.

Don't forget Working Tax Credit, Sure Start Grants (if you're entitled) and child benefit ;)

whilst on maternity leave you are still classed as an employee so she should be entitled to it

According to my contract of employment I am entitled to only a pro-rata of profit share & bonus whilst on maternity leave :-/. I am entitled to my full annual leave entitlement or payment in lieu though ;D.

The DTI do a v. useful publication called 'Maternity Rights'. The code is
PL 958. My copy says 'Whether a bonus is payable to an employee on maternity leave depends on the type of bonus and the terms of the particular bonus scheme.' So it's off to HR I guess.

    Good luck with everything
