Egg have agreed to return nearly £700.00 - thanks Martin. Had the letter from the FOS on the 22nd December confirming Egg have settled. Does anyone know how long it takes to be refunded back. Just checked balance on card and nothing...

Originally sent off letter to Lloyds TSB on the 30th Dec requesting statements from an old (closed)credit card account. Have the reply sorry never heard of you, sent another having found the card number sometime ago and still nothing - not even an acknowledgement. when would be the sensible time to chase....

Did you send the SAR to Lloyds recorded with your cheque for £10? Have the 40 days allowed to them expired?

And in response to the sensible time to chase, I send another letter straight away, as soon as I've had their response or as soon as they have missed the deadline on my original letters. Always send the letters recorded and threaten them with further action if they miss your deadlines.

If you used the template from here, the letter clearly said '..as xxxx is obliged to reply under the Data Protection Act. If not I shall seek remedy from the Information Commissioner'. I would send out another letter and give them a further 14 days to comply, clearly pointing out that they have already missed the 40 days allowed to them. If still nothing, follow through with your complaint.

As far as Egg is concerned, drop a email to the person who dealt with your complaint at the FOS. Tell it's now over a month and you have not heard back. They will chase it up.
