gaming problems vista basic

Options
Hi i had a lappie for xmass when i try to install some games i get an error some thing along the lines windows can not find the file or you do not have permission to acces file . I've tried running as administrator with no joy . My old machine was xp . Tried the disc on the kids lappie and it installed . they run vista premium. Is there a difference between the 2 vista's from a gaming viewpoint .
The games are assisn's creed and civ 4

ewwww Vista Basic? you considered an upgrade to windows7?

which you probably could have gotten free with a new laptop purchase of any vista version other than the basic one.
  • Can you retry and post back exactly what the error messages are?
  • Assassin's creed on a lappie? wow - I guess you spent some serious money on that if you're expecting decent fps/visuals.

Still..it should install no matter how badly it runs, so as suggested please get the exact error message
