Letter of tax credits

I have received a letter off tax credits asking me to check my claim details and to let them know of any changes it mentioned the fact I'm claiming as a single parent
I rang them and they asked me questions like do my children see their father how often etc as well as was I the only adult in my household and was my name on all the bills
they also wanted to check my income details
It did say it was a standard letter issued to thousands to check they are paying the right amounts out but I have never heard of anyone else having this
I'm not in a relationship at present and have been claiming singley since nov 07
has anyone else had a letter like this or know what it's about

They are just doing their job by the sounds of it by making sure your details are up to date. It is likely to be part of the Tax Credits Health Check. If you don't call them or make any updates very often they will try to get in contact with you to make sure you haven't forgotten or purposely failed to inform them of any changes in your circumstances.0
