Changing dishwasher for washing machine

Can someone advise - the kitchen is only small and until now has had a slimline dishwasher in it. We now want to change the dishwasher for a toploading narrow washing machine. Are the pipes all the same and is it a simple switch over??

They should be - one cold feed and one drain pipe.

Do make sure your washing machine takes cold fill only, if you only have a cold fill pipe for the dishwasher (which is usual).

Blimey, you will miss not having a dishwasher tho'.

At my last house, I had the washing machine put into the old outside loo, to leave room for a dishwasher in the kitchen.

Not something I've ever tried - I should be careful when loading the dishes into the washing machine though!
