Sliding Wardrobe Doors

I am looking to revamp our bedroom, and want to put in a fairly long run of sliding doors, a mix of mirror and 'wood'.
Pricing it up, I am surprised at the cost.....looking at B&Q or other usual retailers.
Does anyone know if there are any good sites out there that may fit the bill, and save me a few quid?

We are doing similar and have been looking at sites including spaceslide.co.uk (who came out cheapest for our needs) and doorsdirect.co.uk
But I have been looking for ones that are made to measure to fill a specific space floor to ceiling, don't know how cheap they will be compared to B&Q etc - Wickes ones look good too...0 -
Have you looked at Ikea? http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?cattype=sub&topcategoryId=15597&categoryId=15857&parentCats=15597*15852&storeId=7&catalogId=10103&langId=-20 the even do an interactive wardrobe design thingie here http://www.ikea.com/ms/en_GB/rooms_ideas/pax_planner_2006/index.html
we bought ours from there realy cheep compaired to normal sliderobes. But everyone who has seen them think that they were more expensive.

We looked into it and found that ikea was the cheapest we could find, Sliderobes were reasonably priced but enuff for us not too bother.
Do you really need sliding doors tho? We measured up the bedroom and thought we could get away with 'normal opening' wardrobes and we're pleased we did. Sliding wardrobes would have realistically saved us a lot of space but for the same size and wood effect from Ikea which we bought we ended up saving nearly £400!! The pax planner is a great tool to use as mentioned above, can even see on there the difference in price between the spec'd up wardrobes.0 -
I thinnk MFI do them and if you have tesco clubcard points you can convert them to four times the face value of your tesco clubcard vouchers.0

I think have seen some in argos for 299 (2 wood and 2 glass doors).. no time to search now but have a look.0

We had sliding wardrobe doors in our bedroom when we moved into the house.. on two sides of the bedroom , they take up such a lot of room.. I would love to get rid of them but I would never ever get all the stuff that is hidden in there into two conventional wardrobes.... I was amazed how big the room is when I saw a neighbours room without the built in wardrobes.....#6 of the SKI-ers Club :j

It depends on your space.
I went for the doors from wickes because I'm putting in 2 sets of sliding doors on each side of a chimney breast. One end is 143cm and the other is103cm. I found that the wickes 24inch doors were the smallest and cheapest. Also you can buy the doors singly to mix and match widths. My 103cm gap is the wrong size for eveyrthing so I have 1 sliding door & 1 normal door.Still wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!0
