Is this a special law for junk food and promotions for exercise?
Usually legally you can require a purchase to be made when giving away any thing free - voucher or product (eg. buy one get one free).
I think you maybe are mistaking this with the fact that you can not require a purchase to be made when offering entry to a luck based competition - includes giving a way a scratch card/raffle ticket. (If it a best tiebreaker competition this is not luck based and is acceptable to ask the person to make a purchase).
This is all because it comes under the rules of a lottery and you need a licence to run a lottery and charities can only obtain these.0 -
Yes I might be getting confused - but why would no purchase be necessary unless the company was forced to do so? Perhaps it's confused too?

Anyway, the object of the excercise is to get you and your children to eat McDonald's. Don't fall for it.Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0 -
Who's off for their free swim this week with the kids?
My youngest two keep asking if they are at nursery next week! They finished last Wednesday lunch time and are missing it already!0 -
I've just been in to my local McDonalds and they didn't know anything about it. Is this a local offer?
Just been on to Mcd's website and can't find 'contact us' access eitherLove living in a village in the country side0 -
Have a look at https://www.mcdonalds.co.uk in the 'Whats On' section on the right hand side of the page it shows the treat card and free swimming. Click on the box showing the treat card for more info.
Hope this helps! It is national, no purchase necessary just pick up the treat card leaflet and the swim vouchers are inside. Had to ask at my McDonalds also, as their's were still in the cardboard box!:rolleyes:0 -
bumping this up - found some of the treat cards in Mcds yesterday. the offer is mid-way but its still on!0
