I've gone down from option 4 to 3.
Got my new home hub router yesterday at 7am as promised yesterday but there was no phone with it. I rang BT (Pritesh in India) who said he'd get one arranged for delivery today. As it was short notice, I couldn't get the morning off but on getting home tonight there is a Royal Mail 'We couldn't delivery a parcel please collect' slip.
I'll pick it up in the morning and see what I've got!! It may be a phone!0 -

IvanI don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0 -
got the feeling ALL the original handsets are now being recalled and the are sending out a Dect phone to everyone as a "sweetener" until that phone problem they have identified is resolvedEx forum ambassador

Well sort of!
The phone I picked up from the Post Office was a BT Diverse 6150 worth £50. The package also contained a letter of apology saying that there is a stock issue and the Hub phone will be delayed for approx. 6 to 8 weeks time.
"We apologise for the delay in the delivery of your BT Hub Phone. The enclosed free handset is yours to keep and we'll have your Hub Phone with you as soon as possible."
When I get time, I'll scan the letter and put it so everybody can see.
EDIT: It does now look as tho' I was lucky. Only new customers will get the hub phones. If your confirmation e-mail says your getting one, you get one. All new upgrades / regrades will only get the hub.0 -

Also, I just had a look at the prices:
It is cheaper to use "normal phone line" to phone Mobile phones than to use the Broadband Talk option.
Broadband charge to mobile: 11.74p (how the heck do the charge you
"Normal" charge to mobile: circa 7p (i closed the BT website where i found the price)
I have ordered the Total Broadband purely because it's a free router and I will save a fortune when calling abroad and I am with BT Broadband anyway and the upgrade was free. But for calling in the UK you are better off using the normal landline (although you get free weekend/evening calls.
If someone with some more time on their hands could do some comparison it would be great,
BTBroadbandtalk prices are here: http://www.btbroadbandtalk.bt.com/talk-mobilerates.html ...and they are not that cheap apart from phoning abroad its the same as landline and sometimes more expensive.0
