Valuing Antique Furniture

Hi

I have just inheirited some antique furniture and just wondered the best way (and cheapest) to get it valued.

Has anyone tried value my stuff . com or should I just ring round auction houses???

    try the local library for the millers guide.
    then try the local auction houses.
    Get some gorm.

    Millers guide, needs some expertise to use , condition is everything .
    An auction evaluation would give you what it would likely sell for.

    An auctioneer wont normally charge you for a verbal valuation so try and take them to a (reputable) auction house. Remember though that a value for auction sale is not the same as an insurance value. The insurance value is higher as it assumes that to replace the item you would go to an antique dealer which is always more exppensive than buying at auction.
    Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.

    im assuming the valuation is for sale reasons.
    as with all valuations, care is needed, and the final sales figure can be either way.
    just like your car or house. and yes, condition does matter, of course.
    Get some gorm.
