Suspended housing benfit

i go a letter today to say that my housing benfit as been suspened, beacuse i am no longer getting esa. ive got someone who is going to talk to a disability employment advisor to get me back on benfits.

but can the council really do something like this and as i got no money coming in at all, shouldnt they cover all the cost. its stressing me out and i dont know where to go from here.

Have you told the LA that your ESA has ceased - if not then please ring them asap
They are only going on the info they have received to suspend you HB and will not be aware of your current circumstances, so let them know you have nil income coming in

As tboo has said, the council can and often do suspend claims if the customer has a change in their circumstances.

As HB is a means tested benefit, if they don't know what you are living on, they have to find out so suspend the claim and write out for information. If you are able to show that you have no other income coming in, they will re-assess your claim and resume payments.

Harsh, how? Surely this is sensible advice?
