I wanted to post about how great my recent service from British Gas has been...even when I screwed up!
We were £400 and £200 in credit on our gas and electricity accounts respectively. Therefore I rang up to get this cash and to reduce our DD's. We were paying £50 and £35 - loads!
So... first issue caused by me - I had put my electricity reading in wrong a couple of weeks ago ... the nice man sorted it out and was polite when i was practically panicing on the phone that I'd cost us loads of money.
From there he sorted out our refund - wahooooo AND he reduced the DD to £20 and he asked if I thought that was too high! (I eventually settled on a £30 DD -but at least it was my choice)
Next I needed to read the gas meter- no key
... so hangs on whilst we clatter and bang about to get the meter reading... more clattering some swearing and finally we read it out - all sorted! He arranged the refund and even offered to reduce our DD to £20 - in line with our actual useage.
Throughout this I was relaying it all to my OH and asking little questions - he was brilliant throughout! Before commiting to staying with BG I had read a lot of bad press about them- they're not all that bad I promise
 to BG on this occasion!

I have been a british gas ( or scottish gas ) customer since December
and i have had a perfect experience with them
they came, changed meters to billed meters for free within 1 week of signing up. Set my DD to a reasonable amount and talked me through everything i would need to do if i ever had problems.
Hopefully they will continue with this service

So thats sastisfied customers from both Npower and BG posting about good experiences.
Always nice to hear some of the better stories instead of all the (allbeit justified) moaning about the suppliers.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!
