sky freeview plus

i use a sky sat card to receive freeview channels. i would like to buy a plus box but having looked at the boxes on line i cannot see card slots.

so, can a sky sat user use a plus box? if so how and what box? i live in a poor reception area, cannot get freeview

To actually use a Sky+ box's recording facility, you either need a minimum subscription at 18/month, or pay £10/month and Sky will activate the recording facilities on the box.

Remember also that you really need 2 feeds from the dish to use the Sky+ box fully.

A better option may be to go down the Freesat route and get a Freesat+ box. You still need 2 feeds though.

For info, the card slot on a Sky+ box is behind a drop down panel.

Freesat and FreesatFromSky (which you have) have the same basic line up, but Sky has more channels.

Whether the extra Sky channels are worth mentioning/watching is another matter though.

To be able to record satellite TV you need a Freesat recorder, as above, Sky think that you should pay them every month to have the ability to record. If you don't want to subscribe you're stuck with their most basic option, which you have. All Sky boxes have a slot BTW. You can buy a Freesat recorder and plug it in where a Sky+ box was. 2 lines from the dish are needed if you want to watch one channel and record another.

A Freeview Plus box only works with Freeview which you say you cannot recieve. Your only real option is a Freesat recorder.
