Bank charges whilst in hospital

sorry if posted in wrong section.

my father-in-law is in hospital and has some bank problems in which he obviously cannot sort out whilst he is in hospital.
mother-in-law has called his bank and they say he may incur charges for this and that. is there anything we can do to help mattters whilst he is still in hospital? as he does not need the extra worry.
thx for any help

If he hasn't incurred charges then I would pay money into the account based on the most accurate information you have as a estimate of what is likely to go out of the account..

If the father in law is agreeable, he might want to consider giving someone else power of attorney (or perhaps better still enduring power of attorney) allowing someone else he nominates to help with control of his monetary affairs.
