Advice needed please !

I purchased a dishwasher and fridge freezer separately over 2 years ago on my credit card, am I covered because they've both broke ! I don't want to have to purchase new and I've had an engineer look at the d/washer and quote is over £200 for repair which he's not sure will fix it! gutted, surely they should last longer than that. I'm really disappointed they were both expensive AEG appliances. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. TIA X

Potentially - but you'd have to go back to the original retailer and prove the item was actually defective (e.g. the problem wasn't through misuse) and that the item should have operated for this long.

In the case of a dishwasher - for example - a store might argue that it should last x washes rather than y years. Trying to prove you haven't done x washes might be tricky ...

The onus is on the consumer after the first 6 months to prove it.
