i hope someone can shed some light on this cos its driving me mental
my tv reception is excellent in the summer...
... but come winter, the picture rolls constantly its really unwatchable.
i have sky in the living room so its not too bad, but am unable to watch tv upstairs.
and the winter is when i want to get tucked into bed early n watch tv :P
i thought it may be inteference from my boiler, but it happens even when my heating is switched off
(i have tried shutting it down totally from the electricity supply aswell just to check)
anyone got any ideas on what could be causing this?
please stop me from going insane....

Bad weather ?
remember TV signals are just radio waves and are effected by the weather.
Do you have a signal booster installed ?
If not this may help, you can get one at Argos and many other places.
This one from argos is currently on sale down from 14.99 to 7.49 item code 534/3092 there are many others.

Finally how old is the arial and whats the cable like from the arial to the TV ? check to see the arial is not dislodged or the cable twisted or kinked from the arial to the tv.0 -

i think the box in the loft is some sort of amplifier?
the bloke i bought the house off 3 year ago said it was all new...
have checked all the wires n everything (was up til 2 in the morning once cos it was driving me so mad) !
its just strange that it happens each winter, then goes back to perfect picture during the spring/summer ???
i appreciate what you say about the weather - but surely cold alone wouldnt cause the picture to roll ?
am no expert like ??? ??? ???
i have the tv on at the mo. and it has 2 stripes across it
the stripes are both white at top n black underneath?
the picture rolls every now n again...
other than that the rest of the picture is perfect
aaarrrrggghhhh help..... please....0 -
oops forgot to say...
its the same on the 3 tv's that i have in the house - all running from the same aerial
one good thing i suppose - it stops me from seeing full image of that "strange cat-like botoxed thing" in the celeb bb house
;D0 -
;D LoL
Well it must be to do with that box i think, have you tried just running the aerial to one TV? Just a thought0 -

With that many tv's effected methinks your right.
Could be if its an amp its effected by cold/damp in the loft ?
Anyway as the man says, run a line direct from the arial to one tv and try that.0 -
cheers
will try that tomoro - not looking forward to going up there like... bbbrrrrr

Max you should have is 2 tv's to 1 aerial.

Hi I would suggest not going up to look at the aerial.I run my own aerial business and will not plug mine, but would suggest you get a pro to look at it for you .try visiting the CAI website at https://www.cai.org.uk
They are the trade body i belong to and will have listed someone good who will not rip you off and will know what to do.
hope this helps.
