Furniture Store 247

I've purchased a Snowdon Chest of drawers from Furniture Store 247, it was delivered on Friday 22nd January, I marked the sheet 'unchecked' as we were going away and did not have time to check the item was o.k, plus the delivery driver was in a rush and asked me to do it.
We unwrapped the chest of drawers today (Monday) and found to our dismay that there was quite a lot of damage clearly done to the base of the chest of drawers. The company said that I could return the chest of drawers, but would be charged £45+VAT.
I contacted consumer advice who gave me loads of advice on how the company is in breach of contract and they were obligated to refund me on return of the goods, the amount I paid £155.00 but I would have to go to a small claims court to try and retrieve the £45+VAT back from Furniture Store 247.
If the judge did not find in my favour, I would be liable for the costs of the furniture company.
I've emailed photos as the company requested showing the damage, but now they will not contact me.
I tried to find the company that delivered the item and found that Nettrade Ltd, who do the deliverys are one of the same as Furniture Store 247.
Has any one else had dealings with this company and can any one come up with some help. I've basically paid £155 for a piece of furniture that looks second hand and badly used.

Ask Trading Standards at your local Council, I had a similar problem with a different company and they were great, they contacted the company on my behalf and then even went to the company's local Council Trading Standards to complain for me and then eventually complained to some official authority and I got my money back.0
