Hi all you techie's,
Help please....I normally use Firefox but needed to use IE for something. I did this successfully but then when I closed IE I got an error message "memory corruption in windows process heaps"...have I got a problem? If so, is it serious and how do I fix it. I have a lot of photo's on there (backed up to an external hd)
Please explain to me in simple terms...I'm no techie
I think its IE7 and on windows xp.
Thanks ppl for your help.

Can't really help with this. Is it something that keeps happening, or is it a one off?Payment a day challenge: £236.69

it's the first time it's happened...haven't used IE for months. I have no intention of upgrading to IE8...I much prefer FF.

I never use IE unless i'm forced to. Make sure all your important stuff is backed up.I have no intention of upgrading to IE8...I much prefer FF.
Had a quick look and I think it's something to do with virtual memory: "A heap is a form of memorythat an application can use when it needs to allocate and free memory"
It might just be that your pc was low on it's memory at the time you had IE open, but hopefully someone who knows might be along soon.

As worn implies, if it's just a one-off - and sounds as though it is - forget about it and move on...if it's a regular occurrence then get back to us asapit's the first time it's happened...haven't used IE for months. I have no intention of upgrading to IE8...I much prefer FF.
